Breviary Challenge 2018 Update #1

In preparation for a new Liturgical Year and the Breviary Challenge. I went to the Catholic Book Center at the Archdiocesan Chancery Office aka Arzobispado de Manila in Intramuros yesterday to search for the Supplement to the Liturgy of the Hours for the Dioceses of the Philippines. Sadly, I found no copies of the said Supplement. I believe that it is out of print already. Also, since the Second edition of the LOH is coming out in a few years, the CBCP Litugical Commission might not reprint the supplement anymore since the new edition will have the offices for the Saints canonized after 1970 and the Proper feasts and celebrations for the Philippines if there will be a Philippine Edition like with the Roman Missal. Therefore, instead of what I was looking for, I purchased the red supplement published by the Catholic Book Publishing Company in 1992. Though it lacks the Proper feasts and celebrations for the Philippines such as the Feast of the Santo Nino, it still has the offices for the Saints Canonized since 1970.

I also visited the Chapel of Mary Help of Christians at the Manila Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception to venerate Our Lady.

I am still hoping that there will be a reprint. A copy would be helpful to all Filipino Catholics who would like to pray the Liturgy of the Hours in private and with fellow Catholics especially in parishes where they pray lauds and vespers as a community.
